Since being formed in 1987, Caixa Galicia Corporation has played a fundamental role in bringing together production sectors and its parent company and the latter’s policy of diversifying into new areas of business. Thus the Company holds Caixa Galicia’s shareholdings and manages new lines of activity that are complementary to financial activities.

As part of the first line of action, resources are channelled to those sectors or companies that are most capable of creating value and encouraging growth within their area of influence. The Corporation thus contributes to modernisation and competitiveness wherever it operates, while obtaining adequate returns on the investments made.

Under this dual strategy, the Corporation participates in sectors as relevant as Energy, Food, Forestry and Telecommunications, and holds stakes in leading Spanish companies.

In parallel, the Corporation has been creating a group of subsidiaries (Group of companies) engaged in activities other than banking, such as real estate, insurance, travel and technology, but which have numerous synergies with banking. This allows for higher yields to be obtained from the customer base, as services offered extend beyond financial matters.
